DELTA Train the Trainers Meeting in Athens: Two Days of Data Literacy, Ethics and Applied Analytics<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n

The first two days of the DELTA Train the Trainers meeting took place at Harokopio University of Athens, bringing partners together for an intensive programme dedicated to strengthening data literacy, responsible data use and digital competence.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

On Day 1, the training focused on Foundational Data Literacy and Ethical Governance. Participants explored key concepts such as the data lifecycle, data quality and reliability assessment, data-driven decision-making and the basics of data governance. The programme also addressed essential ethical and legal aspects of working with data, including GDPR compliance, algorithmic bias, responsible data management, transparency and accountability in automated systems. The day concluded with cybersecurity topics, including security threats, encryption basics, secure data storage, phishing awareness and safe collaborative working practices.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

On Day 2, the focus shifted to Applied Analytics and Visualisation. Participants worked on Exploratory Data Analysis, data visualisation principles, data storytelling and dashboard usability. A practical Tableau workshop offered hands-on experience in creating and interpreting visual insights, while additional sessions covered data visualisation, statistics, basic hypothesis testing and the responsible interpretation of correlations.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Together, the first two days created a strong foundation for the DELTA training pathway, combining ethical awareness, digital safety, analytical thinking and practical visualisation skills. These competences are essential for supporting data literacy and innovation across higher education institutions and communities in the Western Balkans.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The training will continue tomorrow with Day 3, dedicated to AI and Emerging Data Technologies.<\/div>\n
